I will never understand.  At 18, you're responsible enough to fight for your country and vote for your nation's leader, but not consume alcohol.  Either raise the enlistment and voting age to 21, or lower them both to 18.  How can you be deemed responsible enough to research the available candidates before voting for one, or responsible and mature enough to wield a fire arm in battle, but not responsible and mature enough to have a few drinks.  Personally, I think all of those things should be reserved for 21 year olds.  I DO think 18 is too young to vote or serve in the armed forces…  Or that our nation's views and practices concerning alcohol are totally bass-ackwards and if we were more like the European nations, being able to drink at 18 wouldn't be too terrible.  Some things I will just never understand.
