Chances are, if you’ve had baby in the Midwifery Center at DePaul, your baby’s feet were swabbed with a foam brush covered in paint and their footprint was placed on the wall, along with their name, date of birth, and birth weight.  If you have had more than one baby there, you get little vines to attach the feet!  Even cousins get vines!

With the Midwifery Center being moved into a newer, more modern building, the feet will be destroyed.  Along with our continuing effort to keep the midwifery center alive in a central location, we are trying to preserve the Wall of Feet, as some of us are very attached to those little prints!

Check out Birth Matters of Tidewater’s blog for more information, up-dates, and ways you can help!  You can also E-mail me at and ask for a list of the addresses for the Board of Directors so you can send letters to them to show them how important this is to families everywhere!  If you think it will take too much time, there are also form letters you can tweak and print out!  Every little bit helps and this has got to be a sustained effort!
